The Chevayur police have arrested two persons for allegedly possessing 2.55 grams of suspected MDMA for sale at Kakkuzhipalam in Kozhikode.

The arrested have been identified as K.S. Anandu, 26, of Nanmanda and T. Keerthana, 21, of Puthiyappa.

According to the police, the duo rented the ground floor of a house at Kakkuzhipalam for two days, claiming they needed accommodation for hospital-related purposes. The house owner alerted the police after repeated attempts to contact the occupants failed.

The police said the duo gave contradictory answers when questioned. A search led to the recovery of 2.55 grams of suspected MDMA from their trouser pockets. The police also seized a weighing machine, ₹11,000 suspected to be proceeds from drug sales and two mobile phones.

Anandu had earlier been arrested in a case involving the seizure of 5.89 grams of suspected MDMA from a parked car at Eranhipalam on June 8, 2026. He was out on bail. He is also an accused in another MDMA case registered by the Balussery police involving 16.16 grams of the drug.
