Dreams FC recorded their first win of the 2026/27 Ghana Premier League season with a 1-0 victory over Basake Holy Stars at the AAK II Sports Arena on Sunday, thanks to Bernard Kokonu’s second-half strike.

The result ended Holy Stars’ unbeaten home run and gave Winfred Dormon’s side a much-needed boost after a difficult start to the campaign.

The hosts played most of the game with 10 men after Bismark Teye was sent off in the 33rd minute following a fiercely contested first half.

Dreams capitalised on their numerical advantage after the break, with Kokonu finding the net in the 50th minute to put the visitors ahead.

The visitors held on to their lead for the remaining 40 minutes to secure all three points.

The defeat leaves Holy Stars 10th in the league table. Abdulai Gazale’s side will look to return to winning ways when they travel to face Port City in their next fixture.

Dreams remain bottom of the table despite the victory but will hope to build on the result when they host newly promoted Debibi United.
