Ghanaian music artiste Jackline Acheampong, known professionally as Gyakie, has revealed the artiste she dreams of collaborating with.

Speaking in an interview on Joy Prime’s Changes show, Gyakie named Nigerian-British singer-songwriter Sade as her dream collaborator when asked which artiste she would love to work with next.

“Sade. I’ve gone to the end of the tunnel literally,” she told the host, Nikki Samonas.

Explaining the reason behind her ambition, Gyakie stated that Sade’s lyrics and vocal tone are centred on love, a quality she believes they have in common.

“Her lyrics, and you know her most of her songs are love songs that’s what draws me closer to her sound, lyrics, tone. I see my sound in her sound as well and I think we’ll really sound good if it ever happens.”

Helen Folasade Adu, known professionally as Sade, is one of the most successful British female artists in history. She is widely recognised for her influence on contemporary music and is known for songs such as Smooth Operator, Your Love Is King, and By Your Side.

Meanwhile, Gyakie, also known as the Songbird, is a Ghanaian R&B and Afro-fusion singer. In 2019, she released her debut single, Love Is Pretty, which paved the way for another single, Never Like This. In August 2020, her song Forever, from her five-track EP Seed, gained significant airplay and topped charts in Ghana, Kenya, and Nigeria.

Gyakie has recently released a new song titled Your Body, which has already attracted public attention within just a few days of its release.

In this week’s newsletter: From wonky electronic production to painfully earnest lyrics, a new wave of artists are embracing nostalgia, cute vibes and DIY pop If you’d told me back in January that one of my favourite tracks of 2026 would count noughties new rave outfit Hadouken! Other affiliates of the largely British scene include Bassvictim, an electronica duo made up of Goldsmiths alumni Ike Clateman and Maria Manow, and Worldpeace DMT (pictured, top), AKA Leo Fincham and Rowan Miles (also a member of the similarly minded Femcels), whose work a Guardian critic recently compared to that of…

La Roux: Old Flames review – a breezy, hook-packed twist on a breakup album

(Vertigo) Devastating moments are dressed up with warm production and kinetic 00s R&B in the now quiff-less singer’s grownup fourth album Over the six years that La Roux, AKA Elly Jackson, was making her fourth album, the singer ended a 17-year relationship, confronted her weed dependency, received autism and ADHD diagnoses and lopped off her signature Johnny Bravo-esque quiff. “Feels like you’re slipping right out of my life,” she admits on To Make Our Love, though the song bounces along like Ace of Base’s All That She Wants, while Night Vision, despite its crushing lyrics – “you keep…

The Adisadel branch gradually faded, but the Mfantsipim branch carried on as Joyful Noise, forming affiliations with groups at Ghana National and Wesley Girls’, and resumed its original name when Joyful Way reversed its decision around 1996.

‘I went into a deep, deep hole’: Wynonna Judd on overcoming family tragedy and putting a lifetime of love and pain into her new album

‘This is a labour of love,’ she says When Wynonna Judd appears on my laptop screen – hair a deep shade of crimson, makeup perfect and sporting a huge black baseball cap with Kentucky Queen spelt out across its brim – she looks both fabulous and confident. “I’m in a good place,” says the woman Rolling Stone described as “the greatest female country singer since Patsy Cline”.
