The Ghana Publishing Company Limited (GPCL) has committed approximately €1.5 million towards acquiring specialised security printing machines and other production equipment as part of efforts to expand its operational capacity and diversify revenue.

Managing Director Nana Kwasi Boatey said the investment forms part of a broader retooling strategy aimed at positioning the state-owned printing company to undertake high-value security printing assignments and compete more effectively in the local and international markets.

Speaking at the Government Accountability Series at Jubilee House on Monday, November 2, he disclosed that management was also converting an existing warehouse into a dedicated security printing section to accommodate the newly acquired machinery and provide an appropriate production environment.

According to him, the investment is expected to improve productivity, strengthen operational efficiency and create opportunities for new business.

"This investment is aimed at strengthening the company's capacity to undertake high-value security printing assignments, diversify its revenue streams, improve operational efficiency, and position GPCL to compete more effectively in the printing industry," he said.

He added that the initiative would enhance the company's ability to meet changing market demands and improve its long-term profitability.
