The Ghana Publishing Company Limited (GPCL) has undertaken a major organisational restructuring, introducing new departments and strengthening internal controls to improve accountability, operational efficiency and corporate governance.

Managing Director Nana Kwasi Boatey said the restructuring became necessary after management identified weaknesses in the company's previous organisational structure and reporting arrangements following his assumption of office in February 2025.

Addressing the Government Accountability Series at Jubilee House on Monday, November 2, he disclosed that new departments had been established, including Legal, Corporate Affairs, Senior Administration, Commercial Sales and Quality Control.

He said the changes had clarified reporting lines, strengthened accountability and introduced performance benchmarks across the organisation.

The Quality Control Department, in particular, had helped reduce material wastage and lower production costs.

Mr Boatey also disclosed that GPCL had established its first Entity Tender Committee in accordance with the Public Procurement Act, 2003 (Act 663), as amended.

He said the company had further strengthened financial controls by introducing enhanced security features on gazettes to combat counterfeiting and engaging Consolidated Bank Ghana (CBG) to directly collect and bank sales revenue.

"Procurements are now made in full compliance with the procurement laws of Ghana and with transparency and corporate governance," he said.

He added that the reforms were intended to build a more efficient, accountable and commercially competitive institution.
