Man found dead after he kills his wife, two children in Raichur

In a tragic incident, a 46-year-old man murdered his wife and two minor children at their residence in Raitha Nagar (Jalal Nagar), Raichur, late on Saturday night, before ending his own life.

The deceased have been identified as 46-year-old Vishnu, his 36-year-old wife Aruna and their children 10-year-old Shlok and seven-year-old Kushi.

According to the police, preliminary investigation suggested that Vishnu smothered his wife and children to death while they were asleep.

Following an extensive search operation, police personnel found Vishnu’s body on the railway track near Chikkasugur village in the district where is said to have jumped in front of a train and ended his life.

Police sources stated that financial distress, exacerbated by severe business losses and unpaid debts, is suspected to be the primary trigger behind the extreme step by Vishnu.

“Prima facie, financial strain appears to be the reason. However, the exact circumstances leading to the incident will be established only after a comprehensive investigation,” Superintendent of Police Arunangshu Giri said.

The Market Yard Police have registered a case of murder, while the Railway Police have filed a case in connection with Vishnu’s death.
