The innovation aims to eliminate the challenges of manually collecting membership dues and distributing welfare funds, while promoting safer and more efficient digital financial transactions.

Organised by MoMo Fintech, the bootcamp and hackathon provided participants with an opportunity to identify challenges within the digital financial ecosystem and develop practical solutions to address them.

The initiative comes amidst the rapid growth of cybercrimes in digital financial sector, emphasizing the importance of the cyber protection for mobile money users and financial transactions.

During the programme, participating teams worked on innovative ideas aimed at addressing challenges within the mobile financial services sector, with a focus on developing solutions that promote safer, more reliable and accessible digital financial transactions.

Chief legal, regulatory affairs and reputation management officer at MobileMoney Fintech Limited, Papa Asai, stressed on the need for innovation, collaboration and technological advancement in addressing emerging threats within the digital financial space.

Papa Asai highlighted the importance of equipping young people with the technical knowledge and problem-solving skills to respond to evolving digital security challenges.

He encouraged participants to move beyond identifying problems to developing solutions capable of making a meaningful impact on society.

After rigorous stages of the competition, Welfare Hub, led by Mohammed Salifu alongside Kamilu Alhassan and Farouk Muftahu Mohammed, emerged the overall winner.

Susu Vault, represented by Jeffrey Owusu Peprah and Godfred Owusu, secured the first runner-up position, while EaziPay, developed by Fosu Boateng Klinsman, Wedam Atigidiwe Prosper and Boahen Felix, finished in the third position.

The three teams emerged from seven finalist projects selected to showcase their ideas and solutions during the competition.
