Sanjeev Mansotra Foundation awards 10 more scholarships to African students under Drive to Inspire partnership

The Sanjeev Mansotra Foundation (SMF) has awarded 10 additional scholarships to young Africans under its partnership with Drive to Inspire – Africa LBG (DTI-A), bringing the total number of beneficiaries under the initiative to 20. DTI-A Founder, Nana Adjoa Hackman, credited partners such as the Sanjeev Mansotra Foundation with helping expand the scholarship initiative.

The Sanjeev Mansotra Foundation (SMF) has awarded 10 additional scholarships to young Africans under its partnership with Drive to Inspire – Africa LBG (DTI-A), bringing the total number of beneficiaries under the initiative to 20.

The scholarships were presented at an award ceremony in Accra on October 30, 2026.

The latest cohort is the first under the partnership to include male beneficiaries, marking an expansion of the programme's support for both young men and women pursuing higher education.

The Foundation's Founder and Chairman of Planet One Group, Sanjeev Mansotra, said investing in young people's education was essential to developing future leaders and contributing to national growth.

"Every capable child, regardless of circumstance, can pursue their ambitions and return value to the community. The scholars of today will be the innovators, educators and leaders who build the Ghana of tomorrow," he said.

Representing SMF, the Group Company Secretary and Head of Corporate Affairs, Ganesh Umashankar, said the latest awards reflected the Foundation's belief that no one should be excluded from opportunities to pursue education.

He explained that the Foundation had sought a suitable partner to extend its support to both male and female students and found DTI-A aligned with its objectives.

Mr Umashankar encouraged the beneficiaries to take advantage of the opportunity and use their education to contribute meaningfully to their communities.

The latest awards follow an initial batch of 10 scholarships presented in April 2026, bringing the total number awarded through the partnership to 20.

DTI-A Founder, Nana Adjoa Hackman, credited partners such as the Sanjeev Mansotra Foundation with helping expand the scholarship initiative.

She said the programme had grown from 17 scholars at its inception to 70 beneficiaries.

One of the new beneficiaries, Rosemary Ofori, a University of Ghana student pursuing a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science, Geography and French, expressed appreciation to the two organisations for the support.

She pledged to make the most of the opportunity.

The partnership also provides a potential pathway for DTI-A scholars to pursue further studies at the University of Stirling's Ras Al Khaimah campus in the United Arab Emirates, subject to meeting the university's entry requirements and securing admission.

The Sanjeev Mansotra Foundation is a philanthropic organisation established by Planet One Group Chairman Sanjeev Mansotra as a voluntary social responsibility initiative.

Its work focuses on education, healthcare and sustainable development, with programmes in Ghana, Guinea, Togo, Sierra Leone and India, among other countries.
