A 25-year-old woman was killed by a man who was in a relationship with her in Gokak of Belagavi district on Monday.
The body of Rakshita Sarikar from Harugeri village in Raibag taluk was found in the bushes near Gokak Falls.
The victim’s relatives complained to the police that Basappa Siddappa Satannavannara from Adalahatti village strangled her and threw the body to destroy evidence.
“The two were in a relationship for nearly four years. But, he got angry when she asked him to marry her,” the complaint said.
Gokak Police, who registered the case, have begun investigation.
