Woman shot in head during Canberra burglary, police call for witnesses

ACT police say a woman was shot in the head during a robbery at a home in Isabella Plains on August 22, and are now calling for assistance to locate two alleged offenders.

An investigation is underway after a woman was shot in the head during a robbery at a home in south Canberra in August.

ACT Policing said they were seeking the identity of two males they say robbed the home in Isabella Plains, during which a woman was left with serious injuries.

Police said about 9pm on Saturday, August 22, two men approached the home and forced their way inside.

They allege one of the men was carrying a firearm and the other a machete.

During the incident, the men allegedly threatened several people and searched the home for money and valuables.

"The offenders then fled the scene with stolen property."

The injured woman was taken to hospital for treatment, according to police.

The two men are described as wearing dark-coloured hooded jumpers, dark pants and gloves.

Anyone who was in the Isabella Plains area on the evening of August 22, or who might have CCTV or dash-cam footage, is being urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000, or via the Crime Stoppers ACT website.
