Madhya Pradesh cabinet approves ₹63,296 crore plan for five greenfield corridors

MP is developing a modern road network through the construction of state highways, four-lane, six-lane and eight-lane roads, as well as greenfield expressways: CM Mohan Yadav
The Madhya Pradesh government is moving ahead with a plan to build five greenfield expressway corridors across the state at an estimated cost of ₹63,296 crore. The decision was reviewed at the 49th board meeting of the Madhya Pradesh Road Development Corporation (MPRDC), chaired by Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav on Thursday.
The proposed four-lane, access-controlled corridors will span a total length of 1,398 km. They include Bhopal–Mandsaur (258 km), Sagar–Satna (227 km), Jabalpur–Ashapur (358 km), Bhopal–Gwalior (320 km) and Katni–Singrauli (235 km). Feasibility reports for the first three corridors are being prepared, with consultants submitting alignment options for review. For the Bhopal–Gwalior and Katni–Singrauli routes, the tender process for selecting DPR consultants is underway.
CM Yadav directed officials to expedite ongoing road projects and stressed that no village, town or city should remain deprived of all-weather road connectivity. He also renamed the corporation’s proposed Highway Fund as the ‘Viksit Madhya Pradesh Sankalp Path’.
The board approved several key decisions, including 100% divestment of equity in the four-lane Jaora–Nayagaon BOT project, creation of new senior posts, acquisition of the PAM Building in Bhopal, and exemption of combine harvesters from toll charges at all MPRDC-operated plazas.
