POCO joins big-battery smartphone race with 7,500mAh C95 Pro

Now, POCO has joined the race with its newly unveiled C95 Pro, featuring a 7,500mAh battery. Now, POCO’s C95 Pro, bringing a 7,500mAh battery is pushing the competition.

By Prince Osuagwu Hi-Tech Editor The battle for bigger smartphone batteries is heating up, with manufacturers increasingly pushing battery capacities beyond the traditional limits in a bid to win over power-hungry consumers. From REDMI’s 10,000mAh offering to realme’s 8,000mAh device, the competition is gathering momentum. Now, POCO has joined the race with its newly unveiled C95 Pro, featuring a 7,500mAh battery.

While the REDMI device has pushed battery capacity into the 10,000mAh territory, realme’s 8,000mAh offering has further demonstrated the growing interest in smartphones capable of delivering extended usage. Now, POCO’s C95 Pro, bringing a 7,500mAh battery is pushing the competition. Unveiled in Lagos on on Monday, the POCO C95 Pro is designed to deliver more than two days of battery life under the company’s stated usage conditions.

It also promises up to 91 hours of music playback, an indication of the increasing emphasis manufacturers are placing on endurance. The device combines its large battery with 45W Turbo Charging, which POCO says can deliver all-day power with just 35 minutes of charging. It also supports reverse charging, allowing users to share power with compatible accessories.

Beyond battery capacity, the C95 Pro features a 6.9-inch display with a refresh rate of up to 120Hz, offering smoother scrolling and viewing for video streaming, social media and gaming. It is powered by the MediaTek Helio G91-Ultra processor and supports up to 16GB RAM through memory extension. Its camera system comprises a 50MP AI dual rear camera and an 8MP front camera.

POCO’s entry adds another dimension to the increasingly competitive big-battery smartphone market, where manufacturers are responding to consumers’ demand for devices that can withstand long working hours, entertainment and communication without frequent charging. For Nigerian consumers, where unstable electricity supply and extended daily commutes can make battery endurance particularly important, the attraction of these devices goes beyond impressive specifications.

A smartphone that can stay powered for longer potentially means fewer interruptions to work, business transactions, navigation, entertainment and communication. With POCO now joining the contest, the big-battery smartphone race appears to be entering another interesting phase
