Alleging various illegal activities by YSRCP leaders during ZPTC/MPTC elections, Chandragiri MLA Pulivarthi Nani and TUDA Chairman C. (Dollars) Divakar Reddy staged a protest near a polling station in Tiruchanur, Tirupati, on Thursday (November 5, 2026) evening.
The two TDP leaders demanded that the State Election Commission (SEC) conduct repolling across all polling stations in Tirupati Rural Mandal, where YSRCP leader Chevireddy Bhaskar Reddy has allegedly committed rigging of votes.
The MLA lashed out strongly against the irregularities, acts of violence, and instances of rigging that reportedly took place during the elections in the mandal. He condemned the deliberate disruption of the electoral process at polling stations — actions intended to incite fear and panic — stating that such behaviour makes a mockery of democracy.
Mr. Divakar Reddy warned the YSRCP leaders that rigging risks distorting the public mandate. He also urged the SEC to respond immediately, investigate the irregularities, and conduct a re-poll in the mandal.
Earlier, Mr. Nani's wife Pulivarthi Sudha Reddy also warned Mr. Bhaskar Reddy that she would follow him wherever he goes to prevent his alleged 'illegal' activities during the Parishad elections.
Meanwhile, Mr. Chevireddy accused the TDP leaders, including the family members of the MLA, of ragging the YSRCP cadre during the Parishad elections. He claimed that the YSRCP activists were not allowed to stay near the polling stations.
