Telangana Fire Services issues 7,601 firecracker licences ahead of Diwali

The Telangana Fire Services Department has issued 7,601 firecracker-related licences across the State ahead of Diwali, as it steps up safety measures to minimise the risk of fire accidents during the festive season.

Director General Vikram Singh Mann reviewed the arrangements made across Telangana and instructed departmental officials to remain vigilant and ensure the implementation of prescribed fire safety measures.

As part of its Diwali safety awareness initiative, the department conducted campaigns in schools across the State to educate students on the safe use of firecrackers and the precautions to be taken while bursting them. A large number of children were sensitised to firecracker safety and the prevention of fire accidents and injuries.

Mr. Mann urged the public to purchase firecrackers only from authorised vendors and burst them in open spaces while maintaining a safe distance. He also advised people to ensure that children are supervised by adults and to keep water or other suitable fire-fighting arrangements readily available.

He appealed to the public to avoid unsafe practices and cooperate with the Fire Services Department in preventing accidents and protecting life and property.
