The directive, which applies to all passengers travelling into the country, is intended to strengthen public health surveillance and preparedness, improve the monitoring of potential health risks and safeguard the well-being of residents and visitors.

In a press release dated November 7, the Service said the requirement followed a recent announcement by the Minister of Health and would take effect on November 12.

Under the new arrangement, all passengers must complete and submit the Health Declaration Form online before embarking on their journey to Ghana.

Travellers can access the form through the GHS electronic health declaration portal at https://ehds.ghs.gov.gh/declaration.

The Service has urged prospective travellers to complete the process ahead of departure to avoid difficulties during their journey.

It has also called on airlines, travel agencies and other relevant stakeholders to inform passengers about the new requirement and ensure they are adequately prepared before travelling.

The GHS said compliance with the directive would help facilitate a smooth travel process while supporting national efforts to protect public health.

It appealed to all travellers and stakeholders to cooperate with the measure, expressing appreciation for their understanding and support.
