Chairperson of the Kerala Administrative Reforms Commission M.K. Muneer urges the public to oppose hate speech irrespective of who makes it, asserting that there should be no compromise with those who spread hatred.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is destined to meet the fate of Adolf Hitler and Benito Mussolini, M.K. Muneer, chairperson of the Kerala Administrative Reforms Commission, has said. He was inaugurating the delegates’ meet organised as part of the Keralam State conference of the Muslim Youth League here on Saturday (November 7).

Mr. Muneer said the people are living in an era when authoritarian leaders are facing setbacks. “That is why Donald Trump and Benjamin Netanyahu are being forced to confront resistance. They will ultimately meet the same fate as Hitler and Mussolini. Narendra Modi, too, faces a similar future,” he was quoted as saying in a release.

He urged the public to oppose hate speech irrespective of who makes it, asserting that there should be no compromise with those who spread hatred.

Shweta Bhatt, wife of former IPS officer Sanjiv Bhatt, who was the chief guest at the delegates’ meet, said that the legal battle and imprisonment of her husband have entered its eighth year, but the family will not retreat from its struggle for truth and justice.

She said that asking questions and defending constitutional rights were the true expressions of patriotism.

Muslim Youth League State president Panakkad Syed Munavvar Ali Shihab Thangal presided over the meeting. State general secretary P.K. Firos delivered the welcome address, said the release.

His explanation follows the seizure of 46.7 kilogrammes of cocaine at the Rafic Hariri International Airport in Beirut, Lebanon, in a consignment that originated from Accra.
