Logeist Group Limited is supporting the Ashanti Regional Branch of the Ghana Journalists Association (GJA) in its initiative to honour veteran journalist Kofi Badu at the 2026 Ashanti Media Excellence Awards.

The recognition is intended to celebrate Mr Badu’s contribution to journalism and his service to the media profession. He currently serves as Chief of Staff at the Manhyia Palace, having built a career in journalism.

The Ashanti GJA is using the awards platform to recognise outstanding journalistic work and celebrate individuals whose professional contributions have helped shape the media landscape.

The 2026 edition of the awards is scheduled for Saturday, October 24, at the Longford Royal Event Centre, Odeneho Kwadaso, Kumasi, at 6:00 p.m.

It will be held under the theme, “Celebrating Excellence, Championing Credibility: Journalism in the Age of AI,” which highlights the importance of professional standards, credibility, and ethical reporting amid the growing influence of artificial intelligence in news production and distribution.

The Association is also proposing to institute an annual Kofi Badu Honorary Award for Veteran Journalists to recognise experienced media practitioners whose careers reflect professional dedication, ethical journalism, mentorship and service to society.

The proposed award is expected to provide a platform for celebrating veteran journalists and preserving their contributions to the development of the profession for future generations.

“For Ashanti GJA, Mr Badu represents a valuable link between generations of journalists. His career offers lessons in professional growth, institutional leadership, innovation and the enduring importance of journalism in national development,” said Kofi Adu Domfeh, Chairman, GJA Ashanti.

The support from Logeist Group Limited underscores the role of corporate partnerships in advancing initiatives that promote professional excellence and recognise contributions to public service.

The Ashanti GJA continues to position the Media Excellence Awards as a platform for encouraging quality journalism, strengthening professional standards and inspiring the next generation of media practitioners.
