FC Ashantigold 04 have dismissed head coach Abdul Karim Zito, assistant coach Ernest Okyere and goalkeeper’s trainer Robert Dabo with immediate effect.

The Obuasi-based club announced the decision in a statement on Tuesday, October 27, following a consultative meeting by the Interim Management Committee.

The club added that a caretaker coach would take charge of the team until a substantive head coach and technical director is appointed.

“Subsequently, a caretaker Coach has been appointed to steer the affairs of the team until the appointment of a substantive Coach/Technical Director.

“Management wishes to express our deepest gratitude to the affected officials for their contribution and service to the team thus far, and wishes them the best in their subsequent endeavours.”

Zito joined the Division One League side in February 2026, 15 days after resigning from Asante Kotoko, where he had been in charge at the time.

The former Dreams FC coach subsequently guided Ashantigold to promotion to the Ghana Premier League.

However, the club have endured a mixed start to the 2026/27 campaign, recording three wins, three defeats and two draws in their opening eight matches.

Ashantigold currently sit 11th on the league table with 11 points.

Thierno Barry double fires Everton to comeback win against Coventry

The most optimistic Evertonian – if that is not an oxymoron – could not have envisaged David Moyes’s team sitting fifth in the Premier League and Thierno Barry just behind Erling Haaland in the goalscoring chart at the end of the club’s calamitous transfer window. Frank Lampard endured a torturous night against his old club as Coventry had two strong penalty shouts dismissed while the second of Barry’s double, taking him to 10 goals for the season in all competitions, appeared to come off his arm.
