Ghanaian real estate company, Capemay Properties, has launched Capemay Futures, an internship and youth development initiative aimed at bridging the gap between classroom learning and practical industry experience. The programme will expose high school and university students to career opportunities in real estate development, architecture, investment and finance, among other fields.

Capemay Properties says the initiative is designed to equip young people with practical industry knowledge through professional mentorship, guided site visits, interactive learning sessions and practical assignments. The programme features two learning pathways: a High School Leadership Programme focused on industry exposure and transferable skills, and a University Internship Programme offering extended workplace learning opportunities.

Project Lead for Capemay Futures and Head of Sales, Marketing and Asset Management at Capemay Properties, Belinda Boadu, said the initiative is intended to help young people gain a better understanding of the real estate industry and the range of career opportunities available within the sector. “At Capemay Properties, we have been running internship programmes for sometime and we have decided to formalize and structure our internship programme and that brought about the Capemay Futures initiative and we hope students from high school and universities can come on board and gain real experience from the real estate industry”, she said.

Participants will have opportunities to explore luxury property sales, marketing, architecture and design, investment and finance, as well as property management, subject to available placements and programme requirements. Eligibility and application Head of Human Resources and Procurement at Capemay Properties, Naomi Fenteng, outlined the eligibility requirements for prospective applicants, explaining who can apply to benefit from the initiative.

The programme is targeted at eligible high school and university students seeking practical exposure to complement their academic learning. Capemay Properties says Capemay Futures will also strengthen partnerships with educational institutions by providing a channel through which schools and universities can refer eligible students for consideration.

The initiative seeks to connect academic learning with the practical demands of the real estate sector while helping young people develop relevant skills and make informed career decisions. Through the programme, the company aims to provide students with greater insight into the processes and professional expertise involved in real estate development and management.
