AC technician held with 13 kg ganja in Hyderabad

A 28-year-old man working as an AC technician was arrested with 13 kg of dry ganja worth ₹6.50 lakh by the Commissioner’s Task Force, Jubilee Hills Zone team, and Borabanda police.

The accused was identified as Md. Ayaz alias Nissar alias Bond, 28, a resident of Sri Ram Nagar, Yousufguda. Police seized the contraband and a mobile phone from him.

According to an officer from the Jubilee Hills police, Ayaz had allegedly been procuring the contraband for about a year from a person in Tangi village of Khordha, Odisha, and transporting it to Hyderabad for sale. He allegedly made frequent trips to the village to obtain the drug from the supplier - before bringing it back to the city.

“After reaching Hyderabad, Ayaz allegedly supplied ganja to his known customers. He returned to the city with another consignment and was waiting for a customer near the SPR Hills open ground when he was apprehended,” said the officer.

Police said the accused had allegedly turned to drug peddling because of financial difficulties and insufficient income from his work as an AC technician.
