Pookie. Building on the first edition KAVOD returns after its maiden edition at the National Theatre on November 26, 2023, when Nacee introduced a format that extended beyond a conventional gospel concert. The first edition combined music with a stage play inspired by the musician’s personal journey, exploring his humble beginnings, early struggles and eventual progress in the music industry.

The production also examined his work across gospel and secular music, his involvement in political campaign songs and the challenges he encountered while building his career. Comedians Foster Romanus and Clemento Suarez led a notable segment featuring a fictional radio discussion. The scene explored public debate surrounding Nacee’s collaboration with rapper Guru on the song Boys Boys.

The production reached a climax when Nacee emerged from beneath the stage dressed in white and launched into a live musical performance. Finalists from the Aseda Open Verse Challenge also performed a medley of songs. The maiden edition attracted several prominent personalities, including gospel musicians Sonnie Badu, Empress Gifty and Piesie Esther, alongside political figures and other entertainment industry stakeholders.

The 2026 edition will again bring together music, comedy and theatre, continuing the event’s approach of combining different forms of live entertainment in one production. Tickets Standard tickets are priced at GH¢200, while VIP tickets cost GH¢300. For tickets and enquiries, patrons can call 0597143961. The event is being promoted under the tagline “KAVOD 26: Where Comedy Meets Theatre and Music.” View this post on Instagram A post shared by Nacee (@naceemusic)
