The Telangana Tourism department is reaching out to investors, business leaders and members of the Indian diaspora in the United States to attract investments into the State’s tourism sector ahead of the Invest Telangana Global Summit 2026, scheduled to be held in Hyderabad in December.

Tourism Special Chief Secretary Vani Prasad held discussions with business leaders, media personalities and high-net-worth investors in the US, showcasing investment opportunities across Telangana, particularly in eight identified Special Tourism Areas (STAs).

Ms. Prasad highlighted opportunities for investment in hospitality, tourism attractions, museums, technology-enabled visitor services and data-driven solutions. “Investors could play a key role in developing world-class tourism infrastructure and improving visitor experiences at destinations beyond Hyderabad,” she added.

Dawn Drew, former Vice-President and Publisher of National Geographic, described Telangana as an undiscovered gem in India and expressed appreciation for the State’s emerging tourism opportunities.

Tourism Minister Jupally Krishna Rao said the encouraging response from the US investor community would support the government’s efforts to position tourism as a major growth sector. “Tourism has the potential to create livelihoods across age groups, genders and educational backgrounds, while providing significant opportunities for entrepreneurs. We are committed to developing Telangana as a globally recognised tourism destination,” he added..

A Telangana Tourism delegation led by Ms. Prasad and Director of Tourism Ranjeet Nayak are also participating in the World Travel Expo (WTE) in Miami, which brings together more than 400 exhibitors from 70 countries.
