Superintendent of Police (East), EAGLE Force, R. Giridhar has stressed the need for constant surveillance on drug peddlers to dismantle their supply networks and curb the drug menace.

He was speaking at a review meeting on cases registered under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act within limits of the Karimnagar Police Commissionerate, held at the Police Commissionerate office in Karimnagar on Wednesday.

Mr. Giridhar along with Karimnagar Police Commissioner Gaush Alam reviewed the progress of the cases and emphasised the need to strengthen enforcement.

Mr. Giridhar said effective enforcement, public awareness campaigns and securing a higher conviction rate in NDPS cases were essential to curbing drug trafficking and working towards a drug-free society.
