The Technical University Teachers’ Association of Ghana (TUTAG) will hold an Extraordinary Congress on Monday, October 26, 2026, to consider proposals from the Vice-Chancellors of Technical Universities Ghana (VCTU-G) towards suspending its ongoing industrial action. The planned congress follows an engagement between the leadership of TUTAG and VCTU-G to resolve the outstanding issues that triggered the strike.

In a statement issued on Friday, October 23, 2026, the association expressed appreciation to the vice-chancellors for their concern and commitment to finding an amicable resolution to the dispute. TUTAG reaffirmed its commitment to constructive dialogue and collaboration to achieve a settlement acceptable to both parties. Ahead of the congress, the association has urged members of VCTU-G to engage the chairpersons of their respective TUTAG local chapters and persuade them to support the proposed suspension of the industrial action.

“We therefore consider it particularly important that the proposed engagements with the Local Chapter Chairmen take place ahead of Congress, to help build the necessary consensus towards a favourable outcome,” the statement said.
