SFI demands withdrawal of notices issued by Andhra University to two student leaders

The Students’ Federation of India (SFI) on Friday (November 6, 2026) demanded the immediate withdrawal of notices issued by Andhra University to two of its leaders and alleged that the administration was neglecting student issues.

Addressing the media in front of the Vice-Chancellor’s office, SFI Visakhapatnam district president Sai Teja and district secretary G. Ajay said questioning the authorities could not amount to indiscipline.

The notices, dated October 31 and signed by the Registrar, were served on Mr. Ajay, a third-year LL.B. student, and Korrayi Tarun, a second-year M.A. (Telugu) student. They cite representations made without following procedure and mobilisation of students, and call the letter an “advisory/caution.”

The leaders sought lower establishment fees, a change in the university’s power tariff from commercial to domestic, filling of vacant faculty posts, better hostel food, drinking water and sanitation, and facilities for research scholars.
