Ghanaian-Polish philanthropist and entrepreneur Omenaa Mensah has officially opened the Omenaa Sport & Art Campus in Tema, a multidisciplinary facility designed to nurture young talent, support vulnerable children, and serve local communities through sports, education, healthcare, and contemporary art. The Campus, which opened on October 31, is located next to Kids Haven School, a facility where children who have experienced violence, severe neglect, and forced labour receive care and an opportunity to return to education.

The new complex will provide these children with access to professional sports facilities, contemporary art, healthcare, international creative residencies, and talent development programmes. Speaking at the opening, Ms Mensah, Founder and President of the Omenaa Foundation, described the project as the fulfilment of a long-held dream to connect her two worlds.

“I am a woman of two worlds. Poland gave me education, opportunities and the strength to pursue my dreams. But Africa is my heart, my soul and my DNA. This is where my roots are, my father’s story and the heritage I have always carried within me,” she said. “Omenaa Sport & Art Campus is the fulfilment of that dream. It is a place where love for my roots turns into real opportunities for future generations.” The Campus comprises three main areas: the Gym Center, Community Center, and Art Residence.

The Community Center includes the Doctors Rooms medical clinic, PHENOMENAA CAFE, and the TOP CHARITY Creative Lab. It is complemented by sports fields, shared activity spaces, and a sculpture garden. The Doctors Rooms will provide free paediatric care, diagnostics, and medicines to children from Kids Haven, other residential care facilities in Tema, deaf and hard-of-hearing children, and the wider community, with support from doctors and students from the Medical University of Warsaw.

During the grand opening, children participated in a match alongside Ghanaian football legends Asamoah Gyan, Stephen Appiah, and Emmanuel Agyemang-Badu, as well as Polish sports stars Marcin Gortat and Radosław Majdan.

“Ghana has so many talented young people. What matters is giving them the opportunity, encouragement and support to discover what they can do,” said Asamoah Gyan. The opening also featured the inauguration of Omenaa’s Museum of Ghanaian-Polish Relation and its first exhibition, “Common Ground,” curated by Azu Nwagbogu and Natalia Bradbury. The exhibition explores memory, identity, cultural heritage, and cooperation across continents, featuring artists from Poland, Ghana, and other African countries.

The Art Residence will host workshops led by international artists and vocational courses, including culinary training. The project was funded through proceeds from TOP CHARITY, an initiative that has raised more than EUR 58 million since 2022 and supported over 300 projects worldwide, alongside business partners including Xtreme Brands, ASTON, DDB Design & Build, Wedel, and Toyota.

The Omenaa Foundation also signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Otumfuo Osei Tutu II Foundation to collaborate on environmental solutions, heritage restoration, and education in Kumasi and the wider Asante Kingdom. The event was attended by prominent figures including DJ Cuppy, Pops Mensah-Bonsu, Bola Ray, and Miss Ghana 2026, Rumzia Sule.

“I believe that Africa’s future belongs to its young generation. Our task is to give them the tools, the space, and the opportunities to develop their potential. Because every child, no matter where they were born, deserves an equal start in life,” Ms Mensah added.
