Imperial General Assurance has donated bags of cement to the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) in the Sekondi-Takoradi Metropolis to support the Service’s ongoing infrastructure projects.

The donation was made during a working visit led by the company’s Managing Director, Mr Harry Ofori-Attah, accompanied by the Regional Sales Manager and the Takoradi Branch team. The delegation was received at the Service’s Regional Headquarters by the Sekondi-Takoradi Metro Divisional Officer, Mr Michael Tetteh, and senior officers.

The gesture forms part of the insurer’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) agenda, which seeks to support key public institutions and contribute to community welfare within its operational areas.

Speaking at the presentation, Mr Ofori-Attah commended the Fire Service for its dedication, professionalism and bravery in protecting lives and property.

He noted that the Service’s mandate closely aligns with the company’s core business of risk protection, stressing the importance of supporting institutions that play a critical role in public safety.

“Our work as insurers is to provide financial protection after a loss, but your work is to prevent the loss and save lives in the first place. This donation is our small way of saying thank you and supporting you to improve your working environment,” he said.

He added that the company recognises the vital role of firefighters in safeguarding communities and is pleased to contribute to efforts to improve their working environment.

For his part, Mr Tetteh expressed gratitude for the donation, describing it as a welcome contribution to the Service’s infrastructure development efforts.

He assured the delegation that the cement would be used judiciously for its intended purpose and called for stronger collaboration between the two institutions.
