A domestic fire outbreak at Anlo Town, near the Old Slaughter House, has destroyed 11 rooms in a 23-room compound house in the New Juaben North Municipality of the Eastern Region.

The Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) in a post shared on Facebook on Friday, November 6, said firefighters from the New Juaben North Municipal Fire Station responded promptly to the incident and brought the blaze under control before completely extinguishing it.

A 10-member firefighting crew was deployed to the scene, where its swift intervention prevented the fire from spreading to adjoining properties.

Although the remaining parts of the compound house and neighbouring buildings were spared, several personal belongings, two electric motorbikes and a bicycle were destroyed in the fire.

The GNFS said access to the affected building had been restricted due to concerns about its structural integrity following the outbreak.

Senior officers of the Fire Service and the Ghana Police Service subsequently visited the scene, while preliminary investigations are underway to establish the cause of the fire.
