Police sources said Hrithik shared his hostel room with another student who left for his house a few days ago. Hrithik was found to have ended his life in the hostel room on Friday morning. Sources said, before resorting to the extreme step, Hrithik had sent a message on social media to one of his collegemates about the suicide note in his room.

Hrithik had purportedly written in the note that he faced defeats in his life and could not achieve his ambitions and dreams.

The body was sent to the Government Hospital, Thuvakudi for autopsy. The Thuvakudi police are investigating.
